Watering the bottle gourd frequently is necessary to keep the earth moist. Once a week, or more frequently in hot and dry conditions, deeply water the plants. At planting time and again four to six weeks later, fertilise the seedlings with a balanced NPK fertiliser.

Management of diseases and pests:
Fruit flies, aphids, and mites are typical parasites that harm bottle gourds. Use the proper insecticides and pesticides to manage bugs. The diseases powdery mildew and downy mildew can infect bottle gourds. To manage these diseases, use the proper fungicides.
