Conditions of climate and soil:
The ideal temperature range for the warm-season produce bottle gourd is between 25 and 30 degrees Celsius. It thrives in nutrient-rich, well-drained loam with good organic matter content. For bottle gourd cultivation, a pH range of 6.0 to 7.5 is optimal.

Selection of seeds and planting:
Pick trustworthy sources for high-quality seeds. Either seedlings or relocated plants from seedlings can be used to grow bottle gourds. Maintain a 60-90 centimetre distance between rows and sow the seeds at a depth of 1-2 cm.

Fertilization and Watering:
Watering the bottle gourd frequently is necessary to keep the earth moist. Once a week, or more frequently in hot and dry conditions, deeply water the plants. At planting time and again four to six weeks later, fertilise the seedlings with a balanced NPK fertiliser.

Management of diseases and pests:
Fruit flies, aphids, and mites are typical parasites that harm bottle gourds. Use the proper insecticides and pesticides to manage bugs. The diseases powdery mildew and downy mildew can infect bottle gourds. To manage these diseases, use the proper fungicides.

When the fruit is 10 to 12 inches long and the skin is a light green colour, bottle gourds can be collected. Using pruning shears or a sharp knife, gently harvest the berries.
