From Wednesday, September 1 through Tuesday, September 5, 2022, will be designated as National Nutrition Week (7th of September).
A healthy diet must include whole grains, organic foods, vegetables, low-fat dairy products, nuts, and seeds, among other things. The purpose of National Nutrition Week is to raise the general public's nutritional awareness by careful planning, providing real-world advice, imparting lessons, competing, making an appearance in public, leading numerous crusades, and becoming a healthy nation.
History of National Nutrition Week Celebration
In order to spread the word about nutrition education and to advance the career of a dietitian, members of the American Dietetic Association (now the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics) established National Nutrition Week in March 1973. The week-long celebration was enthusiastically embraced by the people in 1980, and it expanded to a month-long festival.
National Nutrition Week was first observed by the federal Indian government in 1982. The goal of the campaign is to promote healthy living among the public by educating them about the value of nutrition.
We are all aware that one of the major barriers to the general development of the nation required to overcome and combat it is malnutrition. The week of national nutrition is observed.
Importance of Nutrition
Nutrition is the study or application of food use and consumption. Foods give our bodies the nutrients it needs to survive, grow, and function effectively, including energy, proteins, vital fats, and vitamins. Therefore, a balanced diet is crucial for maintaining good health and wellbeing. Many food-related ailments are considered to be more likely to develop in people who eat poorly.
Healthy eating is essential because
1. Nutritional deficiencies will lower wellbeing.
2. Supply power.
3. Postpones the impact of ageing.
4. Keeps the immune system strong
5. Your mood is also positively impacted by a good diet.
6. A balanced diet increases lifespan.
7. Decreases the danger of chronic illnesses.
8. Concentration is improved by even a healthy diet.
Do you realize that the human body requires seven different kinds of essential nutrients? Although they may not all contain energy, nutrients are equally as essential as water and fibre. While still essential, micronutrients are only required in trace levels. The body cannot produce vitamins, which are essential chemical substances.
National Nutrition Policy
The government enacted the National Nutrition Policy (NNP) in 1993. The National Nutrition Policy has established essential actions in a number of nutrition-related fields, including justice, tribal care, urban and rural development, employment, women's and children's development, the development of people with special needs, and monitoring and control.
The NNP's principal goal is to combat the issue of malnutrition by providing vulnerable groups with direct nutrition interventions as well as by using other development instruments to increase access and foster environments that promote better nutrition.

Conduct rigorous study to evaluate the best methods for preventing and addressing nutritional issues.
