World Food Safety Day 2022 is being observed all around the world on June 7th this year as a global awareness event. This day's main purpose is to increase public awareness and empower people to recognise, prevent and manage food-related hazards.   • The United Nations General Assembly passed a resolution on December 20, 2018, recognising June 7 as a day "celebrating the manifold benefits of safe food." The World Health Assembly (WHA) voted on August 3, 2020, to designate June 7 as World Food Safety Day every year.
  • In December 2018, the United Nations General Assembly declared the first-ever World Food Safety Day.
